Frequently asked questions

Short answers about the job, the visa, costs and your data. Where something depends on the employer or the consulate, we say so.

Relocation required. Every job means moving to Belarus or Russia. You do not work from India.

We are a recruitment agency, not the employer. The employer decides who is hired. Applying does not guarantee a job, a work permit or a visa.

Before you apply

Do I have to move abroad?

Yes. Every job means moving to the city of the job in Belarus or Russia, and you do not work from India. Every vacancy includes relocation, help with opening the visa, and a personal manager who stays with the candidate until they start work.

Do I need experience?

Most vacancies need no experience, and the employer trains you on site. Some jobs ask for a specific trade or certificate. Each vacancy lists its requirements.

Do I need a visa before I apply?

No. The employer issues the invitation and the work permit, and we prepare your documents and obtain the visa. If you already hold a valid visa, tell us when you apply and we will explain whether it can be used for the job.

Does applying guarantee a job, a work permit or a visa?

No. We are a recruitment agency, not the employer. The employer decides who is hired, and the migration authorities and consulates decide on the work permit and the visa.

Who can apply?

You must be 18 or older and able to leave India for the job. If the work permit requires a police clearance and you cannot obtain one, we cannot place you in that job. The full list is on the home page.

What documents do I need?

A valid passport, a selfie holding your open passport, and your diploma or trade certificate if you have one. A CV is optional. Add a visa only if you already have one, and a police clearance and medical examination when the work permit requires them. Upload PDF, JPG or PNG files up to 10 MB each. A clear phone photo is enough.

What is the selfie with my passport for, and how is it stored?

The selfie is a photo of your face next to the open passport page. It confirms that the passport belongs to you. It is stored privately, outside the public website, and only you and our verification team can open it, over an authenticated connection. We never publish your documents.

Is there a fee for candidates, ever?

No. Candidates pay nothing, not for the introduction, the visa, the flight or the hostel. The employer pays the agency, the visa, the flight and the hostel. If anyone asks you for money in our name, do not pay, and write to hello@nordkaam.com.

How much will I earn?

Each vacancy shows its monthly salary in US dollars, as set by the employer. The salary comes from the employer, not from us. Check the pay terms in the contract before you sign it.

Visa, travel and timing

Who pays for the visa and the flight?

The employer pays the agency, the visa, the flight and the hostel. We obtain the visa and book the flight for you. You pay nothing for any of them.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the employer's work permit and on consulate appointment times, which neither we nor you control. Plan for several weeks to a few months from your first complete set of documents. We cannot guarantee any date, but we will tell you which stage your application is at.

What happens if the visa is refused?

The visa and the work permit are decided by the authorities, not by us or the employer. If a visa is refused, we will tell you the reason we are given and what happens next for your application. You still pay nothing, and applying never guarantees a visa.

Can my family come later?

We cannot promise this. Whether family members can join you depends on the visa and work permit for your job, and the rules can differ between Belarus and Russia. Ask your personal manager before you accept an offer.

Your employer and your life there

Who is my employer, and who is my manager?

Your employer is the company that offers the job. It signs your employment contract, issues the invitation and the work permit, and decides who is hired. Your personal manager is our staff member who stays with you until you start work.

Where will I live?

The employer pays for a hostel room, and we arrange it for you from arrival. We also handle your migration registration within the legal deadline. You live in the city of the job: Minsk, Brest or Gomel in Belarus, or Noyabrsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nizhnevartovsk or Irkutsk in northern Russia.

What is the climate and shift pattern in northern Russia like?

Winters in Noyabrsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nizhnevartovsk and Irkutsk are long, dark and very cold, with frost often below -20 °C in midwinter. Shift patterns are set by each employer and written into your contract, so ask for the exact pattern before you accept.

Do I need to speak Russian?

No, you do not need Russian to apply, and the application is in English. Before you accept an offer, ask how the contract and the visa papers will be explained to you, and ask for a copy you can understand. Your personal manager stays with you until you start work.
